Centre back Luca Caldirola was back in team training on Wednesday. After ongoing problems with his foot, the Italian completed all of this morning's session with his teammates. This afternoon, Caldirola and Luca Zander took part in some running exercises.

As is customary, Viktor Skripnik held two training sessions on Wednesday however Zlatko Junuzovic was unable to take part in either after the midfielder picked up a dead leg in the northern derby against HSV.

Manager Skripnik was also without the injured Jannik Vestergaard, Santiago Garcia and Fin Bartels, as well as Levin Öztunali, Davie Selke and Michael Zetterer, who are all away with Germany's Under-20s. The trio will be back at the Weser-Stadion on Thursday.
