Theodor Gebre Selassie has signed a new contract at Werder Bremen...
Theodor Gebre Selassie has signed a new contract at Werder Bremen. His previous deal was due to expire in summer 2016, but will now run out on 30th June 2018. The Czech Republic international signed the contract on Monday morning, under the watchful eye of sporting director Thomas Eichin.
"Theo is an important player for us and a great person, who is a well liked by the other players. His new contract is another part of our future plans, which we are successfully implementing. We're looking forward to continuing to work with Theo," said Thomas Eichin.
The full back is also delighted: "I feel home here and have done since my first day at the club. The past few months have shown how far we have developed as a team. I'm looking forward to being part of this team and to help the club progress."
Theodor Gebre Selassie joined Bremen from Slovan Liberec in Summer 2012. He has played 69 Bundesliga games and three DFB Cup games, in which he has scored five goals and recorded three assists. He has made 27 appearances for the Czech Republic.
