Werder to play friendly against Sheffield Wednesday in Zillertal

The first friendly match of Werder’s training camp in Zillertal has been confirmed. The Green-Whites will take on English second-tier side Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, 26th July. The game against the four-time English champions will kick off at 14:00 CEST at the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller.

This week, a class of Vietnamese students visited the Weserstadion and the WUSEUM. The students thoroughly enjoyed their time in Bremen, showing enthusiasm for Werder throughout. “The pupils love football and would love to come back,” says teacher Van Do.

Season opener away in Augsburg

The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) announced the fixtures for the 2024/25 Bundesliga season on Thursday afternoon. SV Werder Bremen will open the season away at FC Augsburg on the weekend of 23rd to 25th August. The Green-Whites will play their first home game against Borussia Dortmund on the weekend of 30th August to 1st September.

The wohninvest WESERSTADION’s name will revert to simply the Weserstadion at the end of this month. Following the financial insolvency of the real estate group Wohninvest, all sponsorship agreements with the company are to be terminated on 30th June 2024.
