Amos Pieper grins triumphantly into the camera alongside six of his teammates. The 26-year-old and his team were victorious in a small tournament against two further teams during Monday’s training. “This is already my second winning photo this season,” said a smiling Pieper. “We don’t put too much emphasis on that though, we always try to have fun with it – but today it went really well.”

While the rest of the team were biking through Zillertal, Milos Veljkovic was training individually on the second pitch at the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller. After lunch, the Serbia international answered journalists’ questions in the mixed zone in the Hotel MalisGarten. “I had a bit of a knock,” said Veljkovic. “I’m alright again now though.”

Werder beaten 3-0 by U.S. Lecce

SV Werder Bremen lost their first friendly during their training camp in Zillertal. Around 1,800 fans were in attendance at the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller as U.S. Lecce ran out 3-0 winners. Their goals were scored by Nikola Krstovic (31’, 34’) and Hamza Rafia (86’).

Shirt numbers confirmed for 2024/25 season

Coinciding with the launch of SV Werder Bremen's new home shirt, the player numbers for the 2024/25 season have also been confirmed. There have been a few changes within the squad, with some players choosing new numbers for the upcoming campaign. This week, a class of Vietnamese students visited the Weserstadion and the WUSEUM. The students thoroughly enjoyed their time in Bremen, showing enthusiasm for Werder throughout. “The pupils love football and would love to come back,” says teacher Van Do.
