A delegation of the City of Bremen travelled to South Africa last week, accompanied by SV Werder Bremen. The delegation from the Hanseatic city visited a wide range of local institutions such as BORDA and a sports centre modelled on the Bremen Sportgarten in a village in iSithumba.

Niklas Stark and Senne Lynen will both be absent from training over the next few days. While Niklas Stark recovers from thigh muscle problems, Senne Lynen is recuperating following a knock sustained on impact with an opponent during the Hoffenheim game.

The DFB's sports tribunal has given Werder captain Marco Friedl a two-match suspension due to unsportsmanlike conduct following his red card against 1. FSV Mainz 05. The 26-year-old will therefore miss both the home game against FC Bayern München and the away game at TSG Hoffenheim. 

Ole Werner will be without two of his players at the start of this new week of training ahead of the upcoming home match against FC Bayern München on Saturday, 21.09.24 (kick-off 15:30 CEST). Milos Veljkovic is absent due to ongoing foot problems, along with Olivier Deman who has a bruised foot.
