On Wednesday, 08.01.2025, head coach Ole Werner led his team’s first training session ahead of the opening league match of the new calendar year against RB Leipzig on Sunday (15:30 CET). Two players who have been absent of late due to illness were able to return to the training pitches.

While Michael Zetterer and Leonardo Bittencourt have both now returned to team training following absences during the build-up to the friendly against FC Twente due to illness, Marvin Ducksch (thyroid surgery) and Justin Njinmah (ankle problems) are only able to complete parts of training. Keke Topp and Felix Agu are still out with long-term injuries.
