Despite holding last season's runners-up VfB Stuttgart to a 2-2 draw at home, SV Werder Bremen were left feeling frustrated at having dropped points once again. WERDER.DE have summed up all the key quotes from the team.
Ole Werner, head coach: "Overall, it was a solid performance from us against a strong opponent. There weren't many chances on goal during the first half, before things became a bit more hectic after the break, which was due to us. We should have taken the lead earlier. What's frustrating is that we gave them a chance to make it 2-2. But, feeling frustrated at only managing to take a point off a team like Stuttgart is also a sign that we're on the right path. We definitely could have taken all three, but we don't have much time to dwell on this result."
Peter Niemeyer, head of professional football: "We managed to create several chances against a strong opponent. It's frustrating to get manage to see the result through after having taken the lead twice. It's too bad and we'll have to analyse it."
Marco Friedl, captain: "We require too many chances to score and are also conceding too easily. It's frustrating because we're playing well. Instead, we've conceded twice again and could have scored four times ourselves. If we want to achieve something, then we should have taken points from Frankfurt last weekend and also won today. These are games that make it clear that we're not where we want to be yet."
Jens Stage, scorer of Werder's second goal: "Stuttgart are a very strong team and they played well, just like we did. We need to be okay with the point, although it would have been nice if my goal had been the last one scored today and we'd have won. But, that's football for you."

Justin Njinmah, scorer of Werder's first goal: "We played well and managed to create several chances for ourselves, in addition to enjoying plenty of space inside the final third. Unfortunately, we weren't clinical enough, which is why I'm left feeling frustrated more than anything else. I'm obviously happy to have scored, but I'd rather have not scored and seen us win instead."
Marvin Ducksch: "No one would have had a reason to complain had we won today. The penalty decision involving Justin, I'm not sure whether he just went to ground despite having beaten the defender. I'm not going to go blame the referee, however, because we took the lead twice. If you consider the game as a whole, we could have come out on top, despite being up against a top team. We're on the right path and it's important that we now manage to win games like this."
Romano Schmid: "We played well but we conceded far too easily, which can't be allowed to happen. The second one in particular is tough to take. Despite a good performance from us, it's two points that we've dropped today. We should manage to win games like this, especially when we're in the lead."
