Ole Werner, head coach: "It was a very mature and controlled performance – exactly what you need in an away game. Despite the yellow cards we picked up early on, we didn't allow them many chances, which was a job well done from the entire team. We had the better chances and were a bit more clinical than our opponents, because we succeeded in making the most of those moments where there was space available."
Marvin Ducksch, goalscorer to make it 2-0: "It was an extremely mature performance. We'd expected St. Pauli to defend even further back than they did. Our penultimate or final pass was unfortunately often lacking a bit of precision, but we still defended brilliantly. Everyone gave it everything they had for the full 90 minutes, which is why I think the win is fully deserved."
Derrick Köhn, goalscorer to make it 1-0: "It was an important win. We knew that it wouldn't be an easy game at all. That's why we'd told ourselves beforehand already that we'd need to be clinical. I scored with my first chance and so did Marvin, which is how it should be. We defended well and scored the goals we needed. Overall, we did very, very well."
Marco Friedl, captain: "We knew that St. Pauli would be compact at the back and not give up many chances. As a result, we knew that we wouldn't get many chances to score, but we made the most of the ones that we did get. We were dominant on the ball, didn't give up many chancecs and scored at the right moments. It's another step in the right direction. The team deserves a huge compliment for today's performance."
