Werder’s attacker Marco Grüll was forced off just before half time in yesterday's win at SC Paderborn. The 26-year-old felt pain in his thigh after an SVW counter-attack in the DFB-Pokal tie. Team doctor Dr. Georg Tsironis diagnosed a minor muscle injury on Thursday.

As a result, the Austria international will miss the trip to Mönchengladbach this weekend, though he could yet be fit for the home game against Holstein Kiel on 9th November.
