SV Werder Bremen and the Zillertal tourism board have decided to continue co-operating with one another in the coming years. SVW will continue to travel to the Zillertal valley for their summer training camp until 2028.

SV Werder stayed in the region for the twelfth time between 18th and 29th July in order to prepare for the new Bundesliga season. The Green-Whites took part in numerous training sessions at SK Zell’s Parkstadion, played against FC Toulouse in a friendly and explored the countryside using bikes on recovery days. The partnership was actually meant to end this summer, yet before the start of the trip to Austria it became apparent that it would be possible to extend the agreement. Conversations intensified in Zillertal and a successful conclusion was reached at the end of last week.

All parties are pleased that the cooperation will be continued in the coming years: “We have all stressed that we have felt happy in Zillertal and that many friendships between the fans, the team and the region originated here”, says Klaus Filbry, CEO of SV Werder Bremen. “We were given a very warm welcome once again this year, which is why saying goodbye was not easy. Therefore, we are happy that this was only a temporary farewell and that we have now been able to extend this good and long-term partnership.”

“Zillertal looks forward to being able to once again welcome Werder Bremen in the coming years. Over the course of the last 12 years not only a close friendship, but also a successful cooperation has developed, which is an important source of advertising for Zillertal. Above all, an increased TV presence during Bundesliga games and touchline advertising boards will contribute towards a strengthening of the Zillertal brand on the international market”, according to Andreas Hundbischer – chairman of the supervisory board of the Zillertal tourism company, Ferdinand Lechner – deputy chairman of the supervisory board and Ronald Felder, chief executive of the Zillertal tourism board.

There is also great enthusiasm to return to Zillertal from a sporting perspective: “Despite the adverse weather conditions, we once again found the pitch at SK Zell’s Parkstadion to be in a very good condition”, says Werder’s managing director Frank Baumann. “The coaches and the team were once more able to prepare for the upcoming season effectively here. We are very happy that we will also find perfect conditions during future training camps thanks to the hotel, training pitches and hospitality.”
