Head coach Ole Werner will have to do without Milos Veljkovic when SV Werder take on VfL Bochum away from home on Sunday afternoon, 14.01.2024, 15:30 CET. The Serbian international, who limped out of training last week due to knee pain and missed the friendly in Braunschweig, will also not be available for the resumption of the Bundesliga.

“We hope that Milos will be able to return next week,” said head coach Ole Werner at his press conference ahead of matchday 18. “However, it’s not something that will keep him out for many weeks more.” Additionally, Amos Pieper (broken ankle), Leon Opitz (ruptured ankle ligament) and Naby Keïta (Africa Cup of Nations) will be missing, whilst Nicolai Rapp is still a doubt. Niklas Stark, who was training on his own at the beginning of the week, is back available.
