Bad news for Werder: an MRI scan has revealed that defender Niklas Stark suffered an ankle ligament injury against Borussia Dortmund. Stark was withdrawn in the 83rd minute following a coming-together with Karim Adeyemi and will now be unavailable for the next few weeks.

“This is really bad news for us, but of course also for Starki, who’s only recently come back from injury and had a good game against Dortmund. He will begin rehab imminently and we hope he will be available for selection by the end of April,” said Clemens Fritz, Head of Professional Football at Werder Bremen.
