29 Werder players travel to Austria

SV Werder Bremen made the journey down to Austria on Wednesday morning (19/7) with 29 players on board. The squad will be in Zillertal until 29th July to prepare for the new Bundesliga season.

As well as first-team goalkeepers Jiri Pavlenka, Michael Zetterer and Eduardo dos Santos Haesler, Spyros Angelidis from the U19s has also made the trip. The 25 outfield players include youth prospects Leon Opitz and Daniel Ihendu. Felix Agu will remain in Germany to complete his rehabilitation in Bremen and Osnabrück.

Ole Werner’s side will play three friendlies during their time in Austria. The first one is against FC Toulouse on Saturday, 22nd July (15:30 CEST) at the Parkstadion Zell am Ziller. The other two will come as part of a mini-tournament against RB Leipzig and Ipswich Town in Innsbruck on Friday, 28th July (14:30 CEST).
