Head coach Ole Werner: “The boys put their heart and soul into that performance, which the fans could definitely see. When things get tough, we’re always at our strongest when we face the challenge together, which was evident this afternoon throughout the entire stadium. I was delighted when the final whistle blew, as the team were rewarded for their hard work with a fully-deserved three points. We knew we would have to put in a strong defensive performance against a top side like Stuttgart, and that a little bit of luck would be necessary in order to succeed, but we created that luck ourselves today.”
Marco Friedl: “Winning at home is always a great feeling, but today's victory felt that little bit better. We threw everything at it and played with passion for the full 90 minutes. Of course, we were handed a bit of luck at the end, but we were the stronger side today for a good 65 to 70 minutes. It took us some time to get settled into the game, but we we were able to score at decisive moments. A huge well done to the whole team.”
Marvin Ducksch: “I’m insanely pleased that we were able to put in such a great performance against a top team like Stuttgart. We didn’t let anything through at the back and created chances against a strong opposition, even though there were one or two instances where we couldn't find the net from a counter attack. When you defend against a side like Stuttgart in the way we did today, it’s absolutely possible to do that against any team."
Michael Zetterer: “This win at home feels at least twice as good as it usually does after last week’s result. We knew going into the game that it would be a real challenge, as Stuttgart are right in the mix at the top of the table. We constantly had to be alert and keep things tight at the back, but everyone was on their game today. The three points are hugely important and they’ve come at the right time.”
