Nicolai Rapp has left SV Werder Bremen to join second-division side Karlsruher SC. Clemens Fritz announced the 27-year-old’s departure on Monday, and both teams have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.
“Rappo expressed his desire to move on before Christmas, so that he could get more game time. We have approved his request,” explained Clemens Fritz. “Rappo was a key member of our squad when we were promoted in 2022. The last two years, however, have not been easy for him, but he has always given his all and done his bit for the team. We wish him nothing but the best for his future.”
“I’ve had lots of great moments at Werder Bremen that I’ll never forget. From my debut in the 2. Liga to the incredible promotion to my first Bundesliga games. The club has a special place in my heart and I wish only the best to everyone here. Above all, I’ll miss my teammates a lot. However, the time has now come for me to provide fresh impetus in my career and to take on a new challenge. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Werder.”
Nicolai Rapp joined SVW from 1. FC Union Berlin in 2021, making 28 appearances as a Green-White in the second-division and nine in the Bundesliga. The midfielder was sent out on loan to 2. Bundesliga side 1. FC Kaiserslautern for six months in January 2023.
