SV Werder Bremen will be without Leon Opitz for a number of weeks. Scans revealed that the attacker ruptured a ligament in his ankle during the Green-Whites’ friendly against Hansa Rostock.

After the game, head coach Ole Werner said, “It’s a tough pill to swallow for him and for us. You don’t want things like that to happen in a friendly.”
