SV Werder Bremen and Oliver Burke have agreed for the Scotland international to go out on loan. The forward will join Championship side Birmingham City with immediate effect.
“Oliver expressed a wish to be allowed to go out on loan again in order to gain more playing time. We couldn’t guarantee that here and we are hoping that he gets plenty of playing time at Birmingham. We wish him all the best for this new challenge,” explained Clemens Fritz, head of professional football at SVW.
Oliver Burke joined Werder Bremen at the start of last season. In his first season, he appeared in 17 competitive games for the Green Whites (15 Bundesliga games, two goals, two Pokal games), before being loaned to Millwall during the winter break. He played 17 Championship games there, scoring twice. This season, he has appeared once in the Pokal and once in the Bundesliga.
