Lee Buchanan has left Werder Bremen to join English second division side Birmingham City. Both sides have agreed not to disclose further details of the transfer.
“Lee has shown good development in his first year with us but has been dissatisfied with the amount of game time and expressed his desire for a change. There has been interest in him from clubs in the Championship for quite some time. With this move back to England, we have found a good solution for all involved. We wish Lee nothing but the best for the future,” said Clemens Fritz, head of scouting and professional football.
Buchanan joined Werder from Derby County last summer and made a total of 21 Bundesliga appearances for the Green-Whites, scoring one goal. He also featured twice in the DFB-Pokal.
