SV Werder Bremen’s friendly against FC Groningen, due to kick off at 17:00 CEST in Delmenhorst on Saturday July 21st, has been cancelled. “At short notice, the authorities have decided that the game cannot be allowed to go ahead due to security concerns. We apologise wholeheartedly to all the fans who wanted to see the team once more before the start of the competitive season, but unfortunately in this case, our hands are tied. We would also like to thank SV Atlas Delmenhorst, who took the news of the cancellation with understanding,” explained Clemens Fritz, head of professional football and scouting at the club.
