Leonardo Bittencourt has had to miss the whole of this week’s training due to a cold. As a result, he will not be available for SV Werder Bremen as they face 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday afternoon (15:30 CEST). Head coach Ole Werner gave an update on his squad in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Alongside Bittencourt, Werder will have two further absentees to deal with. Working on his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon, Manuel Mbom is still unavailable for selection, as is the injured Nicolai Rapp. There is one doubt for the game in the form of Milos Veljkovic.
