Leonardo Bittencourt will miss SV Werder’s game against VfL Bochum on Saturday (03/09/2022, 15:30 CEST). The midfielder was substituted during the game against Eintracht Frankfurt after suffering a rib injury. “Bittencourt has been unable to train with the team this week and still has pain. Therefore it’s best to wait and see how he progresses,” said head coach Ole Werner on Thursday.
Eren Dinkci returned to team training this week after several weeks out through injury, but Werner said it is unlikely that the forward returns to the matchday squad this weekend. The head coach said that it was more important that build up the striker slowly and carefully after two successive injuries. Werner will also have to do without Manuel Mbom and Dikeni Salifou in Bochum, who are out with longer-term injuries.
