Weiser and Groß to miss season finale in Berlin

Mitchell Weiser and Christian Groß will miss Werder’s season finale against FC Union on Saturday (27th May, 15:30 CEST). Weiser sustained a muscle injury in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Köln, whereas Groß is out with a knee problem. Both players will rejoin team training during pre-season.

“It is of course a shame that the pair will be unavailable in Berlin. We’ll now do everything we can to ensure that they can recover as well as possible and get back to full fitness for the start next season,” said head coach Ole Werner.

Felix Agu and Dikeni Salifou completed individual sessions on Tuesday. Amos Pieper, who is starting his rehabilitation in Bremen after successful surgery, should be back for the start of pre-season. Fabio Chiarodia didn’t train due to a private matter.
