SV Werder Bremen will start the week of training during the international break on Tuesday (21/3). Ole Werner and his coaching team will be without six players, who are away on international duty, but other Werder players will be returning to training.

Captain Marco Friedl, Leonardo Bittencourt and Christian Groß will take part in the team session after recovering from their illnesses. “It’s important for us that the guys now have the time to get back up to speed,” explained head coach Ole Werner. “We hope that they are back available for the game against Hoffenheim, but their reaction physically will decide this.” In addition, Manuel Mbom, who has been out with a calf problem up to now, will train with the team again.

Milos Veljkovic, who didn’t travel with the Serbia national side due to muscular problems, is also missing for the time being. Felix Agu completed an individual session in the morning.

Since Jiri Pavlenka (Czech Republic), Ilia Gruev (Bulgaria), Niclas Füllkrug (Germany), Romano Schmid (Austria), Fabio Chiarodia (Italy U19s) and Mio Backhaus (Germany U19s) are away on international duty, there will be fewer players taking part in training this week, but Ole Werner said, “we should still have enough time to prepare for the Hoffenheim game with the players currently with their national sides.”
