SV Werder Bremen booked their place in their Bundesliga next season after a long campaign of ups and downs. Even though the whole team contributed to this achievement, a Player of the Season still needed to be found. Fans voted on Instagram for their favourite player and Niclas Füllkrug was the winner.

Niclas Füllkrug finished as the Bundesliga’s top goalscorer in 2022/23 with 16 goals, something the Werder fans unsurprisingly appreciated. Around 78% of the votes on Instagram went to the Germany international, with Mitchell Weiser (14%) and Marvin Ducksch (8%) coming second and third in the vote respectively. Füllkrug also set up five goals this season and formed a formidable partnership with Marvin Ducksch.
