Striker Oscar Schönfelder is leaving SV Werder Bremen and will transfer permanently to SSV Jahn Regensburg, where he was on loan last season. Clemens Fritz, head of professional football at SVW, confirmed the player’s move to the third-division side.

“Oscar hasn’t had an easy time after the ligament tear he suffered at the beginning of last season. It’s now important for him to get playing time after a long period on the sidelines. We wish him lots of success when he is back playing in Regensburg and all the best in the future,” said Fritz.

Oscar Schönfelder moved to SVW in 2022 from FSV Mainz 05 and made 11 appearances in the second division in Werder’s promotion season. Schönfelder also played in 11 games for the U23s, scoring four goals.
