Justin Njinmah will continue his journey at SV Werder Bremen. The 22-year-old, who was most recently on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has signed an early contract extension with the Green-Whites and will begin the pre-season with Werder on Monday.

“We are delighted that Justin will continue his journey with us in the coming years. Since he came to us in 2021 from Kiel, he has developed very well. The loan move to the 3. Liga with Borussia Dortmund’s U23s benefitted him and he made a clear step in the right direction there,” explained Clemens Fritz, head of professional football and scouting, who would not like to put too much expectation on Njinmah: “Justin is still a young player, who brings a lot to the table, but his development is far from over. We are very excited to see what he will add to our group of strikers.

Justin Njinmah is also looking forward with anticipation to his time at Werder: “I am happy to be back and being a part of Werder again. I’m just looking forward to the preparations, getting to know the boys, the new season and especially the fans in the stadium.”

Justin Njinmah moved from Holstein Kiel to SV Werder Bremen in summer 2021. He played 18 games for the U23s in the Regionalliga North, scoring 14 goals. In January 2022, the attacker moved to Borussia Dortmund’s U23s and made 51 appearances in the 3. Liga, in which he scored 14 goals. In September 2022, Njinmah made his debut for BVB’s first team in the away match against RB Leipzig.
