Mitchell Weiser joined SV Werder Bremen from Bayer 04 Leverkusen on loan last season, and played 24 matches for the Green-Whites in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring twice. In total, Weiser has made 37 second-division appearances (four goals) and played 140 Bundesliga games, scoring nine times.
