“Tony has been a key player for us from the start. He has fulfilled the expectations put on him both on and off the pitch and we are happy that he is staying with us. He is a regular player and has cemented his place on the left-hand side. He has become an important part of our team,” explained Clemens Fritz.
The 31-year-old looks eagerly to his future at Werder. “It has been an exciting and successful time in Bremen since my move from Denmark. We have a good team, everything is right. My family and I also feel at home in the city, so I’m pleased to continue being a part of Werder Bremen.”
Anthony Jung joined Werder in summer 2021 from Brøndby IF in Copenhagen. Since then the defender has played 21 Bundesliga matches (two goals), 30 2. Liga games (two goals) and has made two appearances in the DFB-Pokal for Werder.
