The Werder players on international duty were for the most part successful on Wednesday. Alongside Niclas Füllkrug, who scored on his debut for Germany during their 1-0 win over Oman, Jiri Pavlenka also celebrated a successful evening. In the Czech Republic’s emphatic 5-0 win over the Faroe Islands, Werder’s shot-stopper played the full 90 minutes and was able to keep his area nice and clean.

Fabio Chiarodia was another who didn’t concede with Italy’s U19 side. The 17-year-old enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over Hungary U19s. Chiarodia was in the starting eleven and played 87 minutes in total. Illia Gruev also started during his international friendly. The Bulgarian played a half in their game against Cyprus in which they came out on top 2-0. Romano Schmid’s Austria won their game against Andorra, but he didn’t come on to play.

Lasse Rosenboom as well as Werder loanee Nick Woltemade were on active duty for Germany U20s on Wednesday evening. Rosenboom played every minute of their 2-2 draw against Czech Republic in the U20 Elite League. Nick Woltemade also got himself on the scoresheet. He is currently on loan at Elversberg and scored the goal that put Germany ahead 2-1.
