“The facts that Werder are playing in our home town for the first time in the new shirts is a very special honour for us as a company based in Verden,” emphasised Katarina Breves, member of the management board at Matthäi. “The anticipation for the start of the season is huge at Matthäi. We are convinced that Werder will celebrate numerous successes with Matthäi on their chest.”
Fans can look forward to an action-packed Werder day surrounding the friendly match in Verden on 9th July. The WERDER football academy will be there with the HeimspielCAMP and will organise a CAMP tournament in which the final game will be played before the first team step out onto the pitch. In addition, there will be numerous stands and interactive activities that Werder supporters young and old can look forward to. “We want to present ourselves at the start of the preparations in a way that people have come to expect from Werder: familiar and accessible,” announced Klaus Filbry. “It should be an all-round great Werder experience for everyone, where there will certainly be time for the odd autograph or photo with the players, but where the footballing side of things will not be neglected either.”
