Mbom suffers torn Achilles tendon

After Friday's 3-2 defeat to Holstein Kiel, the Green-Whites have suffered another setback. Manuel Mbom tore the Achilles tendon in his left leg during training on Saturday. 

"I really feel for Manuel. He will be sidelined for several months. Right now, he will focus on getting through the surgery and we will give him all the time and support he needs during his rehabilitation," said head coach Ole Werner. 

The club were able to welcome captain Ömer Toprak and Christian Groß back to team training for the first time on Saturday. Milos Veljkovic completed an individual session with rehab coach Marcel Abanoz.
